Sota Turntable Rebuild

This is a lovely old Sota Sapphire Turntable with vacuum hold-down, that I am endeavoring to restore.

First step was to strip some ugly paint (not original) off the case and refinish it:

Just some Danish Oil (my go-to finish). I can’t believe someone painted over this nice wood!
The inside of the case showing the legs and the suspension system. The case sits on the legs and the base hangs off of the springs.

Platter still looks pretty clean, but no idea yet if the skirt will still hold suction…
